Privacy
This site sets no cookies and has no analytics and no tracking. Here is what does happen to your data when you visit or write to me.
Who runs this site
David Akintade, an independent designer based in Poland. You can reach me at hello@akintadestudio.com.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. When you open a page, your browser sends Netlify the technical details any website receives: your IP address, your browser and device type, and the page you asked for. Netlify uses them to deliver the page and keep the service secure, and keeps them for as long as its own policy allows. I do not use them to identify or follow you. Netlify's own policy is at netlify.com/privacy.
What stays in your browser
If you press Pause motion, your browser remembers that choice until you close the tab. Nothing else is stored on your device, and nothing is sent anywhere.
If you email me
If you send a brief to hello@akintadestudio.com, I receive your name, your email address and whatever you write. I use them only to reply and to work on your project. I delete them when they are no longer needed for that, unless tax or accounting law requires me to keep them. You do not have to give me anything; I just cannot reply without an address. My email is provided by Apple (iCloud Mail).
The Fabrica demo
The Fabrica demo at /work/fabrica/live/ is a concept project, not a real clinic. Its booking form sends nothing anywhere: what you type stays in that browser tab, and is cleared when you finish or close it. Its fonts come from Adobe Fonts, so opening it sends Adobe Inc. your IP address, the page address and the usual browser details. Adobe says it does not set cookies to serve its fonts and does not store your IP address. No other page on this site contacts Adobe or any other outside company.
Outside the EU
Netlify, Apple and Adobe are based in the United States, so your data may be handled there. Netlify takes part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; Apple and Adobe describe their own safeguards in their privacy policies.
If I wrote to you first
If I contacted your clinic or company about my work, I found your business email address on your own website, and your company details on Companies House or the Irish Companies Registration Office. I keep only your name, your role, your business address and our emails. I use them to offer my services to your business, which is my legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). If you reply “no thanks” or ask me to stop, I stop at once and keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list, so I never write again. Otherwise I delete your details within 12 months if we don't work together. Your rights are listed below.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what I hold about you and for a copy of it, and ask me to correct it, delete it, limit how I use it, or stop using it. Write to hello@akintadestudio.com. If you think I have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Polish data protection authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running a secure website, and, for emails, the steps you ask me to take before we agree on a project (GDPR Article 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)).
